On the day

Your Ticket

Your online transaction will have triggered an email to your inbox with the ticket attached. Just print it off and bring it to the festival gate on the Manland Way entrance to Sir John Lawes School. (Your ticket will be from Bookitbee and the email subject heading will say ‘Festival on the Field: Your tickets).

Line up

On Wednesday 4 July, we found out that Yellow can no longer headline our festival. Their lead singer has been taken ill with laryngitis and is unable to perform. We will finish our night of entertainment with Massaoke and we have added a Robbie Williams tribute to the bill.

Football

This year, we have decided to take advantage of our festival big screen to show a World Cup football match and will be screening Brazil v Belgium on Friday night. No ticket will be required but donations will be gratefully received. There will be a bar and food as well as our fairground and the gates will open at 6.30pm.

On Saturday, because of the huge popularity of the World Cup, we felt we had to screen England v Sweden. This has not comprised our music line up in any way, but we will open the gates at 12.00pm, which is half an hour earlier than advised previously. There will also be a shorter break between the acts.

Please arrive before 2.30pm if you want to see the football at 3.00pm. We only have one entrance and won’t be able to guarantee entry in time if you turn up after then.

Times

This is the plan for the day, but in all the excitement it could change. Please listen out for announcements to make sure you don’t miss anything. There is a chance that timings will change as England’s game in the quarter final could go to extra time and penalties.

Children’s attractions

There will be a number of children’s attractions including inflatables, a climbing wall, bungee trampolines, fairground rides, face painting, glitter tattoos and Sandy Art. (The exact line-up could change.)

Food

There will also be a range of food concessions including Caribbean Delicious and Zero Sushi, which will be serving family favourites including Chicken Teriyaki and Katsu Curry. We’ll also have vegan curries as well as burgers and chips. There will be Mr Whippy’s ice cream and Ben and Jerry’s.

Please do not bring portable barbeques onto the field.

Drinks

There will be an on-site bar and beer tent. Please do not bring your own alcohol. A percentage of the bar receipts will go to school funds along with the other profits from Festival on the Field.

We will also have Cabbie Coffee serving Italian style coffee and the Little Orange Van serving juice and shakes.

Wristbands and festival entry/exit

Wristbands will be handed out on arrival, enabling you to leave and return to the site freely. This will allow parents of younger children to take them home to babysitters before returning to enjoy the rest of the evening. Please bear in mind that sound levels may be high, which may not be suitable for some young children.

Gazebo pitches

If you have bought a gazebo pitch, you will need to come along on Saturday morning between 8am and 10am to erect your gazebo (please ensure it is fastened down securely). If you’d like to pitch your gazebo near a friend’s, you will need to arrive together or bring both gazebos (and tickets).

We would love to have all the gazebos set up in the morning before 10am, but if you need to bring it in the afternoon that will be fine. However, you will not have access to the lower car park.

Please remember that your gazebo pitch ticket is only for the pitch, you will need entry tickets too.

Family tickets

If members of your family are arriving later, please leave their name at the gate when we scan your ticket.

Parking

If you’ve bought a parking ticket, please park in the upper car park. You can leave your car overnight, but you will need to collect it before 12.00pm on Sunday.

Lost children

It is a very safe and enclosed environment but if anybody gets lost, please go to the Festival Office for assistance. The location will be indicated on a map in the Festival programme.

Heat

It could be very sunny on Saturday so please take precautions and bring sun cream and water. We will also have supplies at the Festival Office.

If you’re worried about protecting small children from the sun, you will be able to bring a parasol or small tent (and this is the very small tent you see on beaches for toddlers, nothing bigger please). We’ve also added 20 more gazebo pitch spaces. These will not face onto the arena and are therefore on sale at half price from the festival website until midnight on Friday.

Lost property

Please check with the Festival Office.

Toilets

Located on the tennis courts near the main stage. There is also a separate men’s urinal. A disabled toilet is located in the gym block between the main entrance and the music arena.

First Aid

There will be a first aid station next door to the Festival Office.

Litter

Please use the bins – any litter you drop will have to be picked up by somebody!

If you need assistance

Please come to the Festival Office.

Disabled access

Ramps are available for wheelchair access from the lower car park. Please come to the main entrance first.

Finally

And finally, please, please don’t bring any glass onto the school field. Festival stewards will be checking your bags and will confiscate glass (and alcohol from home)!
